No lily count yet -- but some modest news

Folks in Australia are reading Theo's adventure in Ghost Ship: hey, that's another bookstore bestseller list Top Ten for us!

....and I posted the day lily picture to let people know what it is I'm talking about when I do the day lily count. Ours are not the usual trumpet orange, but if they're a well-known style, or named breed, I can't tell you.

A reminder, despite notes you may get from the big river and other online bookstores, Ghost Ship *is so* available electronically -- go to and if you look around you may find a good deal with the month's Webscription at: . Do look around -- Baen and webscriptions have a lot of our work electronically.

Also, our short story "Intelligent Design" is still available for free at -- on the front page, through August 14, IIRC.

Oh, and you electronic readers -- if you go to Splinter Universe (you do that regularly, right? )you'll find a 1/2 price Smashwords coupon good the for the story that's a prequel to Kin Ties. Kin Ties is the Liaden story that'll be posted on Splinter Universe just before we leave for WorldCon. Smashwords is selling the entire Lee & Miller output from Pinbeam Books -- bet you knew that, though.

Some recent news

Depending on which social media you favor, some or all of the following information will/may be a repeat -- or it may not, depending on how closely you follow things. This all anout Liaden Universe things, and particularly (or mostly) Ghost Ship

At 8:02 and 8:03 this evening, was listing Ghost Ship at #482 ( ) if the link works...

and Amazon was listing it at #1776. (

Meanwhile, Don Blyly at Uncle Hugos has posted a new Bestseller List for July -- in which Lee & Miller books dominate the trade paper size books, and where Ghost Ship is #1 .. .there are some other Lee & Miller sightings available:

And, for kickers this afternoon a Friend of Liad pointed this out -- which is Amazon selecting Ghost Ship for their Fall Book Preview ...

We're slowly pulling things together for WorldCon ... and we also heard this afternoon that we've got a royalty check due in on some of out electronic books .... which will almost exactly cover the train fare to Reno!

And now, all I have to do is let all the good news go, and work with Theo awhile.
