Lord Black Cat

We were... disappointed

We were... disappointed...

that the snow on the deck when we went to bed was the last we've seen... well, I mean, there was a bit o'snow coming out of the sky, sometimes mixed with rain, while I was out to the PO, but really, not even enough to call it a flurry. Pooh. The roadside water was nearly a concern in a couple places -- if it rains more tonight we may have water over the road in a couple of our usual routes about town.

The good news for us today is that both amazon and BN.com are reporting that they are shipping Sword of Orion; that's cool, and much appreciated by those who don't have access to brick-and-mortar shops. For that matter, Books-A-Million is reporting stock and a couple days shipping, as is Chapters in Canada. More cool. GoHastings.com says it's out of stock... boo to them!

...my pettish peeve with Powells continues, with cause. As usual, Powells doesn't mention me as a co-author, despite the photo of the book cover clearly showing my name. Using the search string: "Steve Miller sword of orion" gathers to the screen -- "sorry, but we were unable to find a title to match your search"... what a turkey search engine they must have out there. Powell's shows the book in the "Quimby Warehouse" FWIW, but so what? About half of our books in their database don't show me... pfffttt. But that's OK, *I* won't buy a copy from them, since my copies are already here. By the way...Walmart's search engine finds the book using that search string... but they also don't seem to have me as an author.... I guess I won't buy a copy there, either...

Today, so far, I've fiddled with and partly rewritten the prolog for Web of the Trident. Just another 110,000 words to go. Rev up the keyboards, gang, it's gonna a busy winter...
