Cats in the night, coffee this morning

Long night last night -- came home from chess all revved up with Pepsi and game-high around 11, had a nice big sandwich as a late dinner, to bed sometime after midnight, and woke up around 3:30, wide awake. Took an hour of cat ministrations from Patia to get me sleepy again, so I went back to bed, finally fell asleep, at which point Scrabble, she who sleeps over our heads on top the bookcase, woke up with hairball trouble. Over our heads.

So, very suddenly very wide awake, I got up stood, stood on the bed, and snatched her down in time for her to decorate the floor instead of us. By the time she was finished... and floor somewhat cleaned up.... I was really tired, so I went back to bed. At which point Patia -- remember helpful Patia? -- jumped onto the bed and stomped all over it and us for ten or fifteen minutes, looking for the right spot for a nap. She must have found it, because I finally slept.

So, comes 8:30 and I'm raring to go. But, not the 60 miles trip to the Post office then to Augusta for chapbooks and then to Staples and then home... because it's snowing pretty good and we're suddenly at about 85 to 90% snow coverage again, though it's thin.

So, to work, commenting on an sketch by Donato, relayed from the publisher, on the Crystal Dragon cover.

Where does the time go?

And me with chapters to write.
